Call Before You Dig

In 1988, the Louisiana Damage Prevention Law became effective. This law requires excavators and demolishers to call a regional notification center at least 48 hours before they begin their work.

It also requires owner/operators of underground facilities to mark locations or supply information that will enable excavators and demolishers to locate underground utilities and facilities.

Louisiana One Call allows excavators and demolishers to notify many operators of underground utilities or facilities with a single toll-free call.

Whenever digging, trenching, setting posts or performing any other types of excavation, always call Louisiana One Call before you begin, 1-800-272-3020. This free phone call will notify the owners of buried utilities to mark the site to prevent damage and injury.
